UBA Leo: How To Use United Bank For Africa’s Chat Banker

United Bank for Africa (UBA), made a record with the introduction of Leo, the UBA Chat Banker who enables customers make use of their social media accounts to carry out banking transactions. 

This is the first time that a financial institution in Africa has provided solution to simplify the way customers transact. 

Customers can now be able to open new accounts, receive instant transaction notifications, check their balances, transfer funds and airtime top up. They will also be able to confirm cheques, pay bills apply for loans, freeze accounts, request for mini statements, amongst other things by just sending a facebook message! 

How to Use UBA LEO on Facebook App 

Open your Facebook App and Search exactly for “UBA ChatBanking” and click on UBA LEO’s page. 

Hit the Message Icon which takes you into your Facebook messenger app. 

Tell Leo what you want to do like “Hi i want to recharge my line”. Leo replies in seconds. Reply him accordingly and send him your NUBAN account number.

UBA Leo would send you a One-Time Pin (OTP) via SMS to the number linked to your UBA account. You’re to send that OTP right back to UBA Leo on Facebook Messenger. 

UBA Leo would then proceed to send you his “terms and conditions” document. Agree to it by sending “ Yes”. You will be automatically registered in UBA Leo’s memory and your request would be easily granted. 

Another example is when you want to do transfers: Go straight and tell UBA Leo exactly what you want and remember to keep it short and simple e.g “ I’d like to send 15k to Eric Okon Ubongabasi 2345678901 UBA ”. 

If you are wrong, Leo being so wise would immediately realize the details you’re missing. For the authencity of the data provided, UBA leo would proceed by giving you 3 options; “Pay” “edit” or “cancel”. 

You can also send whichever option you choose as a message to UBA Leo. 

Upon hitting the “Pay”, UBA Leo would send you an OTP via SMS which you’re to send back to UBA Leo on Facebook messenger.

NOTE: You are limited to N20,000 only on your first week of meeting Leo. 

UBA Leo would verify your OTP and send you a message to let you know if your transaction was successful or unsuccessful. Your usual alert would be sent to you if the transaction is successful. 

How to Use UBA Leo Opera Mini

Using UBA Leo on Opera mini is usually slow. First, you open your opera mini app. Visit your Facebook home page and search for “UBA ChatBanking” or click here. 

Then follow the steps already mentioned above. 

How to Use UBA Leo on PC 

To use Leo on your computer, all you have to do is go to www.facebook.com/ubachatbanking on your browser.

Start chatting Leo according to the ways described above.

PC users and Facebook Messenger users enjoy quick toggles like: Balance enquiry,and Mini account statement.
